About

Opened up, rewired, reimagined.

A weekly newsletter collecting the cleverest ways people use AI to open up, rewire and reimagine the things they own.

Tinker.news collects the fun end of AI: people using it to hack smart TVs, revive e-readers, give old kitchen gadgets a brain, squeeze tiny models onto cheap chips and teach retro kit new tricks. Not product launches, not benchmarks. Things you could build this weekend.

How hacks get picked

A bot called Jeff 2.0 scans X, Hacker News, Reddit, GitHub, YouTube and blogs every day for candidates. A person reads each one and approves only the builds that are real, fun and repeatable. Jeff then writes up the approved ones: what it does, how it works and how to try it yourself.

Credit where it's due

Every write-up credits the builder and links to the original. The work is theirs. If you built something featured here and want a correction, or would rather it came down, get in touch.
