Old USB busylight shows when Claude Code is working or waiting for an answer
A spare Kuando Busylight on Claude Code hooks blinks red while it works, goes solid red when it needs you and green when idle.

An old Kuando Busylight on a desk now tells you what Claude Code is up to. It blinks red while Claude is working, stays solid red when it’s waiting on an answer and turns green when it’s idle.
The builder runs Claude Code on a separate laptop for long jobs, and got tired of glancing across to see whether it had finished or was just sitting on a question. The light is wired up with Claude Code’s hooks, so each state change sets the colour. The post doesn’t say how the light itself is driven, and there’s no code, just a short demo video.
If you’ve got a USB busylight in a drawer, that’s the whole parts list. Claude Code’s hooks documentation is the place to start. The original post is on u/Fincut’s Reddit thread.
